In 2020, a new generation of latch vehicles, Ariane 6, will come into use for making easier, more competitive and frequent launches of spacecrafts.
This is another technological challenge for an international team of European engineers, within the framework of a space program that started almost 50 years ago.
While the director will be filming the daily work in the hangars and laboratories where Ariane 6 is being currently designed and built, archive footage of the previous launchers will help to retrace the saga of this unique European technological adventure.
All in all, the documentary will also be about the international rivalry in the space race, between nations / group of nations as well as public agencies versus private investors. On the one side the entrance of China, Japan, and India changes things on a number of levels. On the other side, entrepreneurs like Ellon Musk and Virgin intend to defy state’s monopolies.
Where is Ariane 6 willing to stand in this competition?
